Folate and folic acid in Australia: upper limits and prices
TL;DR
The Australian/NZ adult upper limit for folic acid from supplements and fortified foods is 1,000 µg a day (it doesn't apply to natural folate in food). NIH ODS notes concern that high folic acid intakes might mask vitamin B12 deficiency. If you take folic acid above typical amounts, ask your GP whether your B12 should be checked.
Upper limit
The Australian/NZ NRVs set the adult UL at 1,000 µg/day as folic acid from fortified foods or supplements. [1]
Safety notes
