Is NMN legal in Australia?

TL;DR

We found no entry for NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) in the Australian Poisons Standard (October 2026), and NMN products are listed for sale at Coles. That does not tell you whether a particular product is legally supplied or ARTG-listed: check for an AUST L number on the label. Human research on NMN is small and short-term.

Australian status

We searched the Poisons Standard (October 2026) and found no entry for nicotinamide mononucleotide, meaning it is not a scheduled (pharmacy, pharmacist-only or prescription) substance. Products sold in Australia as medicines must be on the ARTG; imported products bought online may not be. We could not verify NMN's status as a permitted ingredient for listed medicines, because the TGA website was unreachable from our checker. [1]

What the research says

A 2024 systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised trials looked at NMN and glucose and lipid metabolism in adults. Trials so far are small and short, so read the review for its findings and limits. [2]
